Jennifer Lopez: Photos of the Glamours, 'Strong,' and 'Positive' Divorcée

Jennifer Lopez (J.Lo), 42, spoke with Vanity Fair recently about her divorce to singer Marc Anthony. Lopez told the magazine that she tried hard and wanted the marriage to work, and that they both did.

"I am positive - determined to move forward with my life, bring up my babies, and do the best job I can as a mother, entertainer, and person. I now look forward to new challenges. I feel strong," said Lopez.

"It's not that I didn't love myself before. Sometimes we don't realize that we are compromising ourselves. To understand that a person is not good for you, or that that person is not treating you in the right way, or that he is not doing the right thing for himself - if I stay, then I am not doing the right thing for me. I love myself enough to walk away from that now."

The September issue will hit stands nationwide Aug. 9.

The singer looked like she felt happy and strong back in July when she greeted the Royal couple Kate Middleton and Prince William. Lopez even shoved "Weeds" star Mary-Louise Parker out of the way in order to meet Middleton, (Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge) and Prince William.

"I didn't meet them. I was shoved out of the way by Jennifer Lopez. Uh oh, I shouldn't have said that," said Parker.

Lopez and Anthony announced their divorce in July after a seven year run. In a public statement the couple said, "We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision. We have come to an amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved, and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

Since the announcement, Lopez has been linked to her music video co-star William Levy. The handsome telenovela star reportedly split from his wife, actress Elizabeth Gutierrez in May. Neither Lopez nor Levy confirmed a relationship.

July was a big month for Lopez, not only did she announce the split with Anthony, but she also had her 42nd birthday. The actress-turned-singer partied in Miami with close friends and family.

"Thank you all of my lovers for your birthday wishes! I'm having an amazing day surrounded by family and friends," the actress said on Twitter.

Lopez didn't seem too bothered by the split, as she was reportedly seen having a blast on a yacht on July 23 with friends and relatives.
