Jill Duggar, Derick Dillard Reveal Gender Of Rainbow Baby After COVID-19 Battle

"Counting On" alum Jill Duggar Dillard and her husband Derick Dillard are adding another baby boy to their brood.

The couple — who are also parents to sons Israel, 6, and Samuel, 4 — revealed the sex of their baby on the way via their family blog Wednesday.

"We are thankful to have a healthy baby boy due in July! Your continued prayers are much appreciated," Jill, 30, and Derick, 33, wrote in the post.

"We had originally planned on finding out our baby’s gender earlier, a couple [of] weeks ago, but COVID hit our family and we had to delay the exciting revelation," they explained on their website, before adding that they saw the outbreak of COVID-19 as a "blessing in disguise."

The rescheduled appointment coincided with their son Israel's time off for spring break. "This meant our whole family could be together for the appointment, as we all found out together that another little boy would be joining the Dillard tribe!" the couple wrote.

According to the blog post, the family made a day of the sex reveal. The couple and their children had breakfast at a restaurant called the Buttered Biscuit and did some shopping before heading to Jill's ultrasound appointment.

Jill also shared the happy news on her Instagram, where she wrote, "We couldn't be more excited! Thinking maybe we should pad our house and turn it into a trampoline park."

The reality star posted a snap from a family photoshoot that showed the couple holding up a small onesie with the message: "It's a boy." Their sons Israel and Samuel also posed in T-shirts that read "big" and "middle," respectively, while displaying a onesie with the words "little brother."

The announcement came one month after the former TLC personalities revealed their rainbow baby is on the way after a 2021 pregnancy loss.

"We've been keeping a little secret!" Jill wrote via Instagram in February. "Ever since we were devastated last fall by the miscarriage of our sweet baby, River Bliss, we have prayed that, if it was God’s will, he would bless us with another baby. We are excited to announce that God has answered our prayers and we are expecting our rainbow baby due July 2022! We are so thankful for a healthy baby and pregnancy so far and we look forward to finding out the gender soon!"

Earlier this month, Jill shared on Instagram that she and her husband tested positive for COVID-19, which was "not fun" for them.

"Give me all the hot liquids and cough drops please!!" the "19 Kids and Counting" alum posted on March 10.

"With a little help from family, we were still able to celebrate Derick's birthday at home yesterday, even though it was different than we'd originally hoped," she continued. "Prayers appreciated for quick recoveries and for baby to stay healthy too!"
