Similar to her character in "Panic Room," Jodie Foster is going into full momma bear mode over the backlash from Kristen Stewart's affair and breakup. The actress wrote a piece for the Daily Beast, blasting the paparazzi, "fickle fans" and "hurtful headlines."

Since Us Weekly published photos of Kristen Stewart in an intimate embrace with married "Snow White and the Huntsman" director Rupert Sanders, the young actress has been seeing some serious backlash. Stories come out daily, documenting the "Twilight" actors struggle post affair, and her break up with long time boyfriend and co-star Robert Pattinson.

According to Jodie Foster, the public has treated Stewart and others like her like a "gods," only to "pull them down to Earth to gaze at their seams."

"If I were a young actor today I would quit before I started," Foster wrote in her article. "If I had to grow up in this media culture, I don't think I could survive it emotionally. I would only hope that someone who loved me, really loved me, would put their arm around me and lead me away to safety."

It looks like Foster is trying to do just that for Stewart. The actress took the time to explain how she began her friendship with Kristen Stewart, who was just 10-years-old when they met. Foster and Stewart spent five months working on 2001's "Panic Room."

"I grew to love that kid," Foster stated, citing that the two were holed up in a space "the size of a Manhattan closet." The actress reminisced of their days on set, where she got to see the young star celebrate her 11th birthday with a mariachi band and run around a basketball court.

"Cut to: Today...A beautiful young woman strides down the sidewalk alone, head down, hands drawn into fists," Jodie Foster writes, painting an image we have all seen many times. "She's walking fast, darting around huge black camera thrusting at her mouth and chest. 'Kristen, how do you feel?' 'Smile Kris!' 'Hey, hey, did you get her?' 'I got her. I got her!' The young woman doesn't cry. F-k no. She doesn't look up. She's learned. She keeps her head down, her shades on, fists in her pockets. Don't speak. Don't look. Don't cry."

Jodie Foster is not just trying to give some insight into a life constantly in the spotlight, she took the time to write her article for the Daily Beast to give some public encouragement to Kristen Stewart. The old phrase "This too shall pass," is "oddly true," Foster explains.

'The public horrors of today eventually blow away," states the actress. "And yes, you are changed by the awful wake of reckoning they leave behind. You trust less. You calculate your steps. You survive. Hopefully in the process you don't lose your ability to throw your arms up in the air again and spin in wild abandon.
