Joe Jonas Didn't Tell His Parents About His Wedding To Sophie Turner- Here's How They Found Out!
Talk about being as secretive as possible! Singer Joe Jonas, 29, married actress Sophie Turner, 23, on May 1 in Las Vegas after performing at the Billboard Awards, and he did not even tell his parents.
During an interview with "The Graham Norton Show" in Britain, Jonas admitted he is still trying to make the faux pas up to his parents, Paul Kevin Jonas Sr. and Denise Miller-Jonas.
When asked if they found out about the union, Jonas said, "...The internet told them! I'm still trying to make it better!" He jokingly said his friend, musician Diplo, spoiled the secret by posting Instagram stories of the ceremony online.
Turner did the right thing, and told her mom Sally, who shared with DailyMail, "Sophie did call me before. She said, 'mum, I'm getting married in Vegas.'"
Jonas should be able to make it up soon, as he and Turner are planning a second wedding and this time, it won't be in a Las Vegas chapel. The two are set to wed in France this summer and there is no way both of their parents won't be a part of it.
“Joe and Sophie want to have a huge party,” a source told Us Weekly. “The decor is going to be sophisticated, but there’ll be some kitschy elements, including a really wild cake. There’ll be a live band, and the Jonas Brothers are expected to take the stage.”
Turner recently spoke about how Jonas changed her life, and told the Sunday Times, according to Cosmopolitan, that when they first met, “I was going through this phase of being very mentally unwell...He was, like, ‘I can’t be with you until you love yourself, I can’t see you love me more than you love yourself.’ That was something, him doing that. I think he kind of saved my life, in a way.”
