JoJo Siwa Confirms Breakup With Kylie Prew: 'Still My Best Friend'

JoJo Siwa and her girlfriend Kylie Prew have called it quits. The couple started dating in January 2021 before being together as friends for a year. After the split, Siwa noted that the ex-couple is still friends.

The 18-year-old YouTuber and dancer told Paris Hilton Tuesday, "I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up," on her podcast, "This is Paris."

Siwa, whose real name is Joelle Joanie Siwa, explained that they are still on good terms, adding, "she is literally still my best friend." The "Dancing With the Stars" contestant further revealed that she had a conversation with Prew, 18, on Monday and learned that her ex-girlfriend got a new puppy.

"[Prew] She's awesome. She's having the time of her life, I'm having the time of my life," Siwa told Hilton. "I'm really lucky that I didn't lose her completely because, you know, even though relationships end, friendships don't have to end."

Moreover, Siwa noted that it came as a surprise to her as to how easy is it to remain friends with Prew after the split. The YouTuber did give the reason behind their breakup saying, "right person, wrong time."

She assured Hilton that nothing "bad happened" between them adding, she is "really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times." Although she admitted that her age was one of the reasons for the split besides her "hectic schedule." "But everything's good, I'm good," she added.

Siwa took to Instagram on Oct. 9 to share a post hinting towards trouble in her personal life.

"This has been a WEEK. My brain has never been so overwhelmed/overloaded with not only work but also personal life," she wrote in the caption. "This week of my life has taught me SO much. Live in the moment. Smile however you can."

Siwa announced during Instagram Live on Jan. 24 that she is a part of the LGBTQ community before thanking everyone for supporting her tweet posted on Jan. 23 featuring her donning a t-shirt that read, 'Best. Gay. Cousin. Ever.'

On the work front, Siwa will be next seen in a movie titled, "Bounce," which is under pre-production.
