Julia Fox Reveals She Broke Up With Kanye West After Seeing 'Red Flag'
Julia Fox, who briefly dated Kanye West after his split with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, has revealed that she broke up with the rapper after seeing the first sign of a red flag.
The 32-year-old Italian-American actress told ES Magazine in an interview that came out Thursday that when she was still with West, she was "just going day by day and seeing where it went."
"It was just like, he still wants to hang out with me today, let's do it," she recalled.
The "No Sudden Move" actress went on to share that she thought her lifestyle at the time wasn't "sustainable" because she "couldn't fly away once a week."
"And I tapped out at the first sign of a red flag," she revealed.
According to the actress, the rapper was going through "unresolved issues" and he "just seems like he had a lot to work on."
"I don't have the bandwidth or emotional capacity for it," she explained.
Fox admitted that although she was glad about noticing the red flag at the earlier stage of their relationship, she was also aware she would have "definitely stuck it out and been there for longer" had she dated him prior to having her baby, Valentino.
The actress shares the baby boy, who was born in January 2021, with her former husband Peter Artemiev.
West and Fox dated for just about two months. The former couple met during a New Year's Eve party in Miami in 2021. In January, they were spotted having dinner at an Italian restaurant in New York City. However, news about their breakup emerged on Valentine's Day.
After their split, Fox said dating West was not good for her health, noting that she lost 15 pounds within a month. "I tried my best to make it work," she said. "I already had a jam-packed life. How do I fit this really big personality into this already full life? It just wasn't sustainable. I lost like 15 pounds in that month."
Before dating Fox, West was married to Kardashian from 2014 to 2022. The former couple shares four kids — North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3.
