“Jurassic Park 4” Release Date Could Take A Bite Out Of Summer 2014, Other News and Rumors
All has been quiet from Universal since they announced in June that Rise of the Planet of the Apes writers Rick Jaffa and Amanda Silver will be working on the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park series. If you've been patiently waiting to sink your teeth into some more Jurassic Park 4 news then you are in luck. We know have an anticipated release date for the film!
Producer Frank Marshall dropped the news to Collider that the fourth Jurassic Park film could hit theaters in 2014. I would say that it will be on the screen within two years, Marshall replied, elaborating that the date will be in the summer since it's a popcorn movie.
Besides finally setting somewhat of a date, Marshall took some time to clear up rumors that the fourth installment will be a reboot or a remake. While the movie won't be directed by Steven Spielberg, it is definitely a sequel, Marshall confirmed.
Don't fret that Spielberg's magic won't be involved. Collider reports that the director will be heavily involved in the development, and that one of the things to look forward to is the visual effects.
That's what gonna be great about it, Marshall continued about what fans should be looking forward to. Technology's taken a leap now that we can really do some great things.
As the Examiner explains, this recent Jurassic Park 4 news coincides with the little tease that Spielberg gave at Comic-Con last year. The director had mentioned that the film could be in theaters in two to three years.
The first Jurassic Park film took theaters by storm in 1993, making not only $900 million worldwide upon its release, but winning three Academy Awards. The Lost World: Jurassic Park followed up in 1997, with Jurassic Park 3 coming four years later in 2001.
Spielberg failed to direct the third installment as well, but has definitely signed on to produce the fourth film with Kathleen Kennedy. Now that a tentative date has been given for the release of Jurassic Park 4, news on a director should come soon.
As for the plot of the new film, the storyline has been kept under wraps. However, many rumors have been circulating about what will happen in Jurassic 4- and one of them involves the government.
In 2007 Bloody-disgusting.com claimed to have some interesting tidbits on the fourth movie. According to the site, Jurassic Park 4 will be shot in Hawaii again. While Laura Dern is said to be returning as Dr. Elli Sattler, Bloody-disgusting reports that Sam Neill will not be returning as Dr. Alan Grant. The site also revealed that rumor has it that the fourth film is about the government who trained dinosaurs to carry weapons and use them for battle purposes.
What do you think the plot of Jurassic Park 4 will be?
