‘Just My Type’ Hallmark Channel Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis

Hallmark’s Spring Fling event is officially underway with the premiere of their first new film for the series-- “Just My Type,” starring Bethany Joy Lenz and Brett Dalton.

While Lenz is likely best known by many for her role as Haley James Scott on “One Tree Hill” from 2003-2012, but she’s made a name for herself in the Hallmark family since then, starring in 2014’s Movies and Mysteries film “The Christmas Secret,” as well the Hallmark Channel flicks “Royal Matchmaker” (2018), “Bottled With Love” (2019) and “A Valentine’s Match” (2020).

Meanwhile, Dalton is likely most recognized for his role as Grant Ward/Hive on “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” he is also a Hallmark veteran, starring in the Movies and Mysteries film “Once Upon A Christmas Miracle” in 2018 and “Cooking With Love” on Hallmark Channel that same year.

So what will happen when these two vets get together for a spring romance? Let’s find out.

“Pop culture writer and aspiring novelist Vanessa Sills (Lenz) lands the interview of a lifetime with the illustrious, elusive and reclusive mystery author Martin Clayborne (Dalton) in his quaint rural town, only to realize her own aspirations, dreams and romantic life have taken a back seat along the way,” a synopsis for the film reads.

After spending some quality time with Martin, it appears Vanessa may be more affected than she realized, as her time with him then spurs her to take a long hard look at the life she has lived and decide what it means for her future going forward.

“When Vanessa returns home and a mysterious gift arrives from Martin, she then makes a surprise decision, and finally takes her own advice to ‘go boldly in the direction of your dreams and live the life you imagine,’” the synopsis continues.

Will she find love as she seeks out a new path for her future?

“Just My Type,” premieres Saturday, March 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
