Justin Bieber Paternity Test Called Off, Mariah Yeater 'Quietly' Drops Lawsuit
Beliebers everywhere can breathe easy knowing that Justin Bieber is probably not the father of Mariah Yeater's three-month-old baby. The young mother quietly dropped the paternity suit against Bieber late last week, according to TMZ. Yeater's lawyers Lance Rogers and Matt Pare have reportedly withdrawn from the case.
Last week, camp Bieber announced plans to countersue Yeater after Bieber took a DNA test, presumably ruling out his paternity. A source directly connected to Justin told TMZ that Yeater's lawyers appeared nervous when Bieber's lawyer Howard Weitzman outlined his plans.
Yeater claimed that she had a brief sexual encounter with Bieber at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Calif., in October 2010. According to court records obtained by Star magazine, Yeater became intimately acquainted with the pop star after he put on a concert there.
After waiting for a short period of time with several young women, Justin Bieber appeared and engaged me in conversation, Yeater reportedly said in the lawsuit excerpted by RadarOnline.
Immediately, it was obvious that we were mutually attracted to one another, and we began to kiss. Shortly thereafter, Justin Bieber suggested that I go with him to a private place where we could be alone.
I agreed to go with him and on the walk to a private area, he told me he wanted to make love to me and this was going to be his first time... After walking away from the other people backstage, Justin Bieber found a place where we could be alone -- a bathroom.
Bieber would have been 16 at the time.
Mariah reportedly told a judge, When I later realized I was pregnant with Justin Bieber's baby, I tried to contact him through his representatives but no one ever called me back.
She added: On July 6, 2011, I gave birth to a baby boy. That was exactly 36 weeks and two days after the sexual encounter with Justin Bieber. Based upon the timing as well as the fact there were no other possible men that I had sex with that could be the father of this baby, I believe that Justin Bieber is in fact the father of my baby.
Beiber and his representatives have patently denied Yeater's claims from the start.
In a Nov. 4 appearance on Today, Bieber insisted that he had never met the woman.
I know Im going to be a target, but I'll never be a victim, he told Matt Lauer. Every night after the show, I go right from the stage to my car. So it's crazy that people want to make up such allegations. But to set the record straight: None of it is true.
Yeater's former boyfriend also accused his ex of lying about the alleged tryst with Bieber, and claimed she had initially said the child belonged to him.
Bieber's paternity test had been scheduled for Dec. 15.
Talk show host Maury Povich had invited Bieber to announce the results of the test on his show.
We are actively pursuing this story, a spokesperson for Maury told the Huffington Post.
This would be a huge TV event, Amy Rosenblum, former executive producer of Maury, also told HuffPo. Maury is trusted by millions of viewers and if Maury told Justin 'You are not the father,' everyone would believe it.
