Kailyn Lowry Doesn't Want Javi Marroquin Involved In Baby's Life
“Teen Mom 2” star Kailyn Lowry does not expect Javi Marroquin, the father of her middle son, 3-year-old Lincoln, to be involved in her third child’s life. Conversely, Marroquin has been a strong father figure to her oldest son, 7-year-old Isaac.
It doesn’t mean the MTV reality star has hard feelings toward her ex-husband, though.
“I don’t see a reason for him to be involved other than knowing and acknowledging that this is Lincoln’s half sibling,” Lowry told Radar Online in an exclusive interview Tuesday. “That being said, on my end, there is no bad blood. But I don’t think there is any reason for him to necessarily be involved.”
Even though she and Marroquin are not always on the best of terms, he reached out to her when baby No. 3 was born Aug. 5. “I didn’t ask how he was handling it,” she said. “But he did say congratulations.”
Marroquin wouldn’t be surprised to hear Lowry doesn’t see a “reason” for him to be involved in her third child’s life, especially since he told Radar Online in a previous interview he didn’t expect to “have a relationship with the new baby.”
Her divorce from Marroquin was finalized December 2016. The third pregnancy stung for him, considering he wanted to have a child with Lowry before they divorced — but she refused.
Lowry, 25, has arguably hit the lottery when it comes to responsible fathers among the “Teen Mom 2” cast. Ex-boyfriend Jo Rivera uprooted his life to Deleware to be near his son and Marroquin still makes time for Isaac, even though he is not he’s legal step-father anymore.
That might change with baby daddy No. 3 Chris Lopez, though. Even Lowry wasn’t entirely convinced her former partner would be around for the child. “I think he has been as supportive as he can. He does the best to his ability even though it doesn’t necessarily meet the standards of what everyone else expects of him. I think people need to keep that in mind,” she once told Radar about Lopez.
Lowry was “hopeful” her ex would pull through for their son. “Every child deserves their dad,” she said. “I’m hopeful. I’m positive he’ll be around.”
She was pleasantly surprised when he showed up at the hospital to escort her and their son home. “I’m so glad that he came,” she said. “But just based on how our relationship has been there was always a question whether he would have his phone on him or would he be at work.”
When Lowry announced her third pregnancy in February it was with a melancholy tone. “I’m sad that I should have known that people in my life would sell me out before I was ready. Like any normal person, I want it to be a happy time,” she wrote at the time. “I wanted this to be a private time so I could be excited while not getting chased by paparazzi and bothered with crazy headlines.”
