Kanye West Pulls Out Of Scheduled VMA Appearance Because Of Kim Kardashian

Kanye West is not attending the VMA Awards, scheduled to air live Thursday night on MTV.

According to the Daily Mail, West is going to be absent since Kim Kardashian, his girlfriend of close to six months, cannot attend due to commitments in New York.

"Kim's in New York for her fragrance launch and Kanye didn't want to go to the VMAs if she couldn't be there," a source told the site.

The VMAs are going to take place in Los Angeles.

Kardashian will be in the big apple promoting her latest perfume-"True Reflection" at Lord & Taylor during Fashion's Night Out.The two lovers have known each other for about 10 years.

Earlier this month, Radar Online reported that Kardashian wants her divorce from NBA player Humphries finalized as soon as possible so she can marry West."Kim feels that Kanye is the man she is going to spend the rest of her life with, and she doesn't want to wait. Kim's deposition will likely take place in the next few weeks, but she feels nothing is going to be gained by it," a source told the celebrity gossip site.

"I feel like we've been through a lot together as friends. He's always been the most supportive person in my life." Kardashian told Barbara Walters, speaking of West, during a recent interview on 'The View.'

West was not scheduled to perform at the music awards show, though his song "Mercy" featuring Pusha T, Big Sean and 2 Chainz is up for Best Hip-Hop Video and Best Editing.
