Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle’s Separation ‘Won’t Work’ For This Reason, Says Expert
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle will soon be separating personally and professionally, but a royal expert said that this move will most likely not work.
Princess Diana’s former bodyguard Ken Wharfe told Express that the royal family having Team A and Team B won’t be beneficial for the British clan.
“I think it’s probably unwise for the two Princes to run separate offices, because from my point of view, having witnessed the division of two offices when the Prince of Wales and the Princess of Wales were working – when they became the A and the B team – it never really worked,” he said.
While at the London Press Club’s “In Conversation” conference, Wharfe also said that Prince Harry and Markle’s popularity leveled up after their wedding and during the Duchess of Sussex’s pregnancy. These are things that Princess Diana also faced when she was still alive.
“Whether the two women have fallen out, I don’t know. Harry is an interesting character, as Meghan is. They are two very popular people and one of the things that royals don’t like is when one becomes more popular than the other. This was part of Diana’s problem in that – I could never understand it – they couldn’t deal with Diana’s popularity,” he said.
In related news, Prince William and Prince Harry’s division is being linked to the siblings’ ongoing rivalry. According to ET Canada, Prince Harry got upset with his older brother when the future King decided to not roll out a red carpet for Markle. Prince Harry also felt that Prince William didn’t do enough to make his wife feel welcome.
“Harry felt William wasn’t rolling out the red carpet for Meghan and told him so. They had a bit of a fallout, which was only resolved when Charles stepped in and asked William to make an effort. That’s when the Cambridges invited the Sussexes to spend Christmas with them,” a source said.
A friend of Prince Harry also said that the Duke of Sussex is not happy with all of the attention he and Markle have been getting.
