Kate Middleton Vs. Meghan Markle's First Christmas Service: What's The Difference?
Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle have both experienced their first Christmas service with the royals. Who between them has a better experience?
On Monday, the "Suits" actress joined Prince Harry, Prince William, Middleton and the rest of the royals for their traditional morning Christmas service at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Since it was Markle's first time, many looked back to the Duchess of Cambridge's experience in 2011.
According to Us Weekly, Markle may have taken an inspiration to Middleton for her first Christmas service outfit. The publication noted that Markle's look was too similar to the Duchess of Cambridge when she made her Christmas debut with the royals six years ago.
Middleton opted for a long coat with Nehru collar. She paired it with a lighter shade aubergine velvet statement hat and accessorized with L.K. Bennet pumps and currant clutch.
Meanwhile, the "Horrible Bosses" star opted for a Sentaler wrap coat with wide collar and ribbed cuffs. She matched it with leather gloves, over-the-knee-high boots, Chloe Pixie bag and stylish hat.
However, Independent.ie noted that while Middleton could have been the big draw on her Christmas service debut, she was placed behind Prince Charles and Camilla Parker-Bowles on arrival. There are no words about the arrangement upon the arrival of the royals on Monday if the same set up was done.
However, there were photos of Markle and Middleton at the front row. They were even photographed giving a curtsy to Queen Elizabeth II upon the monarch's arrival. There were also photos of them with Prince William and Prince Harry behind Prince Charles and the Duchess of Cornwall.
People added that both ladies were welcomed by a huge crowd. However, Middleton set off on her own to greet the people. Meanwhile, Markle stayed close to Prince Harry and they greeted the crowd together.
Also, Prince Harry and Markle maintain their PDA with the "Suits" star holding her fiancé’s arm as they made their way into the church. Prince William and Middleton were not as affectionate in public. But "there were signs of quiet encouragement from William to his new wife."
According to the publication, the Christmas is seen as a personal time and formalities are lifted. This could be the reason Prince William and Middleton were photographed holding hands as they walked their way to the church.
