Kate Middleton’s Vogue Cover Resurfaces After Meghan Markle Snub; Netizens Want Another

Kate Middleton’s Vogue cover has resurfaced.

On Friday, the Duchess of Cambridge’s Vogue cover in 2016 was listed on eBay, but the bidding has already ended. A netizen shared snaps of Middleton from her photoshoot for the magazine on Twitter and the duchess looks stunning.

“Tbh this vogue shoot was everything,” the caption read.

“I need her to do another cover next year,” a different user commented.

A different user said that Middleton was “very cute.” Another wrote that she wanted to buy the cover.

Middleton’s Vogue cover has resurfaced shortly after her sister-in-law Meghan Markle snubbed the same opportunity. The Duchess of Sussex copy-edited the British Vogue issue for September 2019. According to editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, Markle declined to appear on the cover of the magazine because she didn’t want to appear “boastful.”

Many reacted to Markle’s statement because just three years ago, the Duchess of Cambridge graced the magazine cover for its centenary issue. Middleton wore a striking green fedora hat, crisp white shirt and brown leather jacket on the cover.

The future queen appeared in a 10-page spread. It was the first magazine shoot that Middleton ever consented to do.

Commentator Carole Malone was among those who didn’t like Markle’s statement. She called the Duchess of Sussex “hypocrite” for mentioning that appearing on the cover is “boastful” because she, herself, has appeared on magazine covers many times and even shortly before she wed Prince Harry.

“I think that’s hypocrisy on a grand scale. She has been on covers of big magazines as well, she was on the cover just before she was married,” Malone said.

The Duchess of Cambridge and Duchess of Sussex were expected to be close friends because they are close in age. However, they defied the people’s expectations by not forging a close friendship.

According to entertainment reporter Ashley Pearson, it wasn’t surprising that Prince William and Prince Harry’s wives aren’t close because they don’t have much in common. In fact, they are very different.

Middleton follows the royal protocol while Markle challenges the royal norms. Also, both are grown up and have fully formed their own styles and opinions when it comes to the royal traditions.
