Katy Perry Accused Of Practicing Witchcraft Ahead Of HRC Los Angeles Gala 2017 Recognition
Is Katy Perry a witch? Two nuns think so, and that’s why they are after the “Chained To The Rhythm” songstress. They made the accusation after Orlando Bloom’s ex revealed she wants to purchase a former convent.
Two nuns identified as 86-year-old Rose Catherine Holzman and 78-year-old Rita Callanan reportedly asked for help from Pope Francis’ personal lawyer to counter Perry’s plan of buying the former convent where they formerly lived. Holzman and Callanan were backed by the Order of the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary in their effort to stop Perry’s plan from coming to fruition.
“I do not like Katy Perry’s lifestyle,” Callanan told Daily Mail. “I have a lot of the things from the internet to show the Archdiocese what kind of woman she was. Some of the things she does are disgusting.”
Callanan also detailed how Perry actually showed the nun her wrist tattoo of Jesus’ name when they first met each other. She also pointed out Perry’s petty plan of purchasing the $14.5 million property was just so she could use its garden for meditation and drinking green tea.

Callanan also called out Perry for the latter’s involvement with witchcraft, since she visited Salem, Massachusetts for the “Salem Witch Walk” back in 2014. “I’m sorry but I am just not into witchcraft and I am just not into people who are into witchcraft. It disturbs me,” the nun said.
Perry has yet to respond to the nuns’ statements. The “Dark Horse” hitmaker appears to be busy this days following her split from her boyfriend of 10 months, Bloom. While Bloom has since reunited with his son with ex-wife Miranda Kerr, Perry is busy with her upcoming album and is also focusing on feminist causes on the side. On International Women’s Day, she joined the millions of women who staged another Woman’s March to fight for their rights.
Given her philanthropic work, it does not come as a surprise that Perry is going to be honored at the upcoming Human Rights Campaign’s 2017 Los Angeles Gala Dinner on Saturday, March 18. The singer-songwriter is set to receive the National Equality Award at the event for being an active advocate of equal rights for everyone.
“We are thrilled to honor Katy Perry for using her powerful voice and international platform to speak out for LGBTQ equality,” HRC President Chad Griffin said in a press release published on HRC’s website. “Her compelling advocacy, from the stage to the campaign trail, has had a profound effect on the lives of LGBTQ people — and, in particular, young people. Katy’s message of inclusion and equality continues to inspire us and the world.”
