Katy Perry Admits To Having Suicidal Thoughts In New YouTube Video
Katy Perry recently uploaded a new video on her YouTube channel where she opens up to Dr. Siri Sat Nam Singh and confesses to having thoughts of suicide.
The doctor, who also happens to be the host of “The Therapist,” talked to Perry about the singer’s desire to live a more genuine life after the release of her 2013 album, “Prism.” Perry admitted to the therapist that she often feels torn between Katy Perry the singer and Katheryn Hudson, the “dork” her family and friends have come to know.

At one point, Perry also told Dr. Singh that she sometimes has suicidal thoughts and that she feels ashamed of thinking this way. “I wrote a song about it. I feel ashamed that I have those thoughts, feel that low and depressed. You can be right or you can be loved. I just want to be loved,” she said as she breaks down in tears.
In addition, Perry shared the real reason why she decided to get a pixie cut. According to the “Dark Horse” singer, there came a point in her life when she no longer wanted to be like the pop icon Katy Perry. “I didn’t want to look like Katy Perry anymore. I’m a bit more nerdy than everybody thinks I am, I’m a big goofball. The fantasy of Katheryn went into Katy and made this bigger than life personality. That’s not the point of this whole thing, if people can see I’m just like them then they can dream just as big,” she explained.
After the release of her newest YouTube video, fans of Perry praised her on Twitter and said that they have more respect now for the “Roar” singer.
Meanwhile, Perry is live streaming her new album, “Witness,” this weekend. According to Billboard, “Witness” is already on course for a no. 1 debut on the Billboard 200 chart. Industry forecasters are saying that “Witness” could launch atop the chart with 200,000 to 225,000 equivalent album units earned within the week until June 15.
If “Witness” will indeed make it to the top of the Billboard 200 chart, this will mark Perry’s third chart-topper following 2010’s “Teenage Dream” and 2013’s “Prism.”
