Ke$ha On Rumors About Herself: 'People Expect Me to Be Drunk Most Hours of Every Day'
Just because Ke$ha likes to have a good time and has developed a party girl reputation doesn’t mean she’s drunk all the time -- as some people apparently think. The “Die Young” singer sat down for an interview with "Entertainment Tonight" where she attempted to take down some of the rumors swirling around about her.
"People do expect me to be drunk most hours of every day," she told ET. "Everybody just always thinks I'm drunk! 'Cause I just act kind of drunk in general." The 26-year-old pop star, who doesn’t take herself too seriously, added, “Not to disappoint you, but I'm not wasted right now.”
Ke$ha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, was recently able to show the world an inside glimpse of her life on her own MTV reality show, “My Crazy Beautiful Life.” Even though she’s done wacky things like chew on a fan’s beard and drink her own urine, the starlet insists it’s all real. "There's not one moment on the show that's been scripted or fake," she said. "It's my life. It's balls out."
When Ke$ha was filming the series she told Us Weekly she couldn’t believe some of the things she was going to show. "There are things in the show that ... I'm just, like, a little beside myself at the fact that I'm going to show the world," she said at the time.
"I'm showing it all. Like when I look terrible and when I'm having a real deal breakdown," she added. "But it's all kind of to support my message, which is to be yourself and love yourself. Perfect or not perfect."
"It's really like the craziest and most intense moments of my life you're going to see," Ke$ha continued. "And you know, it's not just drama. There's also moments where we start a food fight with cauliflower and I accidentally hit a stranger in the eyeball with a piece of cauliflower. And there are jumping off of cliffs into the ocean and scuba diving with sharks...I wanted people to see all sides of my personality."
Ke$ha is currently on a North American tour with Pitbull.
