Kendall, Kylie Jenner Fear Growing Older
The Jenner sisters, Kendall and Kylie, may be two of the youngest icons on social media -- seemingly fearless and liberated in doing almost anything they can think of. But just like other young women, they also don’t want to grow old.
The two sisters talked about growing older in their interview with the Sunday Times' Style magazine, E! Online reported. The "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" stars were featured on the magazine's May 31 cover. In an interview, both sisters admitted they were afraid of aging.
Kendall also is terrified of living a "fast-paced" life, while her younger sister Kylie wants to be a teen forever. "I'm scared of the day I turn 19," Kylie was quoted as saying. "I really don't want to grow past 18." Turning to Kendall at one point, Kylie added, "You'll be 20 this year -- that's crazy. And any second you'll be, like, 21, 22, 23 .. ." Kendall nodded in agreement: "It's scary. Life is scary."
The sisters grew up onscreen in their family's reality TV show, "Keeping Up With The Kardashians." They joined the series in 2007 when Kendall was 12 and Kylie was 10. Since then, their lives have been under public scrutiny.
Kendall, now 19, also mentioned how she thinks social media has taken over their generation, further stating how it has become a big part of their lives: “It’s kind of sad. I hate it sometimes, like, I literally want to throw my phone so I can't look at it," she added. "It's all a made-up world if you think about it. Social media, everything, this interview, everything. It's not real. It's pretty crazy."
And their lives have been somewhat crazy. At such an early age, both have been trying to make their mark in the fashion industry, be it in modeling, fashion shoots or their own business ventures. The latest is a new Kendall and Kylie collection in Topshop, the Independent UK reported. The duo will launch their own clothing collection Wednesday with the British company.
Kendall and Kylie have also filed for applications with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to trademark their names, MTV reported. This is in an effort to capitalize on their personal brands for anything related to entertainment, fashion and pop culture.
Even though they’re both scared of growing up, both sisters seems to be having fun living their glamorous lives while staying on top of their various ventures.
