Khloé Kardashian-James Harden Update: Did They Break Up After Lamar Odom’s Near-Death Experience?
“Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star Khloé Kardashian dropped everything to be with her estranged husband, former Los Angeles Lakers star Lamar Odom, after he was found unconscious and hospitalized last week. She even apparently dropped her new boyfriend, Houston Rockets guard James Harden. The two have put their relationship on hold while Kardashian cares for Odom, TMZ and Us Weekly reported Tuesday.
Even though they both signed divorce papers in July, Kardashian, 31, still cares for Odom, 35. “It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see she still has deep feelings for Lamar,” TMZ wrote. The couple is still legally married due to a “backlog” in the California courts.
But this turn of events doesn't mean Kardashian and Harden, 26, have split. "Everything is on hold right now while she's with Lamar," an insider told Us Weekly.
She even texted Harden from Odom’s bedside. The couple “have been in constant communication since she arrived in Las Vegas,” an insider told Radar Online Monday. “They have mostly been exchanging text messages, and there have been phone calls, too.”
Harden didn’t protest when Kardashian fled Los Angeles to be with her stricken ex. “He is so nice and being as supportive as humanly possible, given the situation," a source told People magazine Monday. "Lamar essentially has zero consistent family other than the Kardashians, and James understands that. The last thing he would want to do would be to add more stress to her plate.”
When the E! reality star issued her first statement about Odom Tuesday, she did not make any mention of the status of her relationship with Harden. "The past week has been incredibly difficult," she wrote. "I am so thankful to family, friends and fans, who have sent nothing but prayers and well wishes to Lamar,” part of the statement read.
Odom was discovered unresponsive at the Love Ranch brothel in Nevada last Tuesday. He was rushed to the local hospital in Pahrump and then transferred to Sunrise Hospital in Las Vegas and eventually Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles. Doctors reportedly gave him a “50-50” chance of survival. By Friday, the first reports of him fluttering his eyes and talking emerged: Odom woke up from his coma. Even though he is on the road to recovery, it could take months, new reports say.
