Lamar Odom may not be out of Khloe Kardashian’s life just yet, after the reality star split with French Montana earlier this month. Odom is reportedly trying to reconnect with Kardashian following her most recent breakup.

"Real love always wins in the end. He knew that wasn’t going to last,” a source tells Hollywood Life. “French was there so she could get her mind off Lamar. We all know that. He did his job, played the role he was supposed to play and now he’s gone. Just like that.”

Kardashian and Odom had a seemingly strong relationship that played out for years on the E! reality show, “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” They married in 2009 after a 30-day courtship.

However, Odom reportedly cheated on the 29-year-old and engaged in drug use, leading to Kardashian filing for divorce in December. Not long after, she began dating French Montana, though the relationship was reportedly fake and just for her reality show. French Montana even got a paycheck for appearing on her show, according to recent reports. Kardashian's mother and manager Kris Jenner allegedly worked out a deal with Montana to have him on the show. “The way that the Kardashians’ [show] is set up is very unusual: It’s the only show that I know of where a producer can say, ‘Here’s the cast and this is what they’re getting paid,’” a source told the Daily News.

“Usually to add a cast member to a show, you’d have to fire a cast member to keep the budget balanced. But in this case, Kris just offered French Montana a check to be in the show. He’s expensive, and some people at E! just don’t think he’s worth the money. I’ve heard execs moaning about it, saying, ‘We’re just paying so much for him!’"

Kardashian’s mother, Kris Jenner, is reportedly unenthusiastic about a possible reunion between Kardashian and Odom. "Kris is worried sick that Khloe will take Lamar back now that she’s done with French," a source tells HollywoodLife. "Kris thinks Khloe is very vulnerable right now and the last thing she needs to do is jump back into a relationship with Lamar."
