Khloe Kardashian Opens Up About Lamar Odom's Relationship With Her Brother Rob
Reality star Khloe Kardashian is currently busy nursing her husband, Lamar Odom, back to health. Despite throwing most of her energy towards his recovery, Khloe opens up about another man that she’s been taking care of for the past several years. In a recent interview, Khloe talks about her brother, Rob Kardashian, his personal issues and his relationship with Lamar.
"He's charming, charismatic, everything. That's what's so infuriating. I'm like, 'Where is your will to live life? Let's be around people!'" said Khloe, as she spoke to People magazine. She is talking about Rob, and how he’s become very reclusive in the past two years.
About two years ago, Rob started to gain weight and started to battle depression. Gaining an estimated 100 lbs., he began to drop out of the public eye and even stopped appearing in the family’s reality TV show, “Keeping Up With the Kardashians.”
Rob showed signs of trouble and at around the same time, Khloe’s marriage with Lamar Odom fell apart. She filed for divorce in Dec. 2013, several months after reports started to circulate that Lamar had been going missing with other women and had been taking drugs.
"Once Lamar left—and it's not Lamar's fault at all—I think Rob didn't know where to go. He was like, 'I don't have guidance anymore,'" said Khloe, in a quote from the interview shared by E! Online. She went on to further explain that Lamar had become a father figure to her younger brother.
The Kardashians’ father, Robert Senior, passed away when Rob was only 16 years old. When Rob moved in with Khloe and Lamar, the two of them formed a special bond and Rob was affected when the marriage fell apart. Now that Khloe has moved into a new house, she has once again asked Rob to move in with her. She has been doing what she can to help him, even offering to get him a personal chef.
Khloe now has her hands full with Lamar expected to need extended care following his medical emergency almost two weeks ago. Luckily, Rob has been showing progress in recent months, and has returned to social media. He has also started to take fitness more seriously.
