Kim Kardashian Accused Of Copying Ideas For Her Latest Skims Campaign
Kim Kardashian has been accused of copying another reality TV star’s photo ideas for her latest Skims campaign.
Kardashian, 40, had the world drooling when she released the newest ad for her brand Thursday, featuring her sister Kourtney Kardashian and actress Megan Fox as models. Now model Draya Michele has accused the reality star of stealing her photoshoot ideas.
According to Page Six, Michele, the former “Basketball Wives” star, reposted two images, now expired, on her Instagram Stories bearing a strikingly similar resemblance to that of Kourtney and Megan feeding each other cherries while sitting opposite each other seductively as part of the latest Skims campaign.
In the two images shared by Michele, she is also seen feeding model Tanaya Henry cherries while they sit on a couch wearing only lingerie.
Kristen Noel Crawley originally shared the image reposted by Michele. Crowley wrote in a caption: “Black women are always the blueprint, and don't you forget it.”
Michele, with 8.5 million followers, then endorsed the message by sharing it on her Instagram Stories.
Crawley, who is the founder of KNC Beauty, was once a close friend of Kim and even featured in the Skims campaign in 2019. Her husband’s fashion designer, Don C, is known to have a friendship with Kim’s estranged husband Kanye West.
Around November 2020, rumors spread that Crawley and Kim were on the outs after she unfollowed the KKW Beauty CEO on social media. The reason behind their rift is still unknown.
This is not the first time Kim has been accused of stealing ideas. Back in December 2017, fashion nerds claimed that the “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” star ripped off designers Rei Kawakubo and Demna Gvasalia for her kid's line.
However, Page Six, later on, reported that the piece in question was intended as “homage.”
Even Kim’s eldest child with Kanye West, North West, has been accused of copying. In March 2020, the little girl performed a track almost identical to that of 5-year-old YouTube star ZaZa at her father’s Yeezy show.
ZaZa’s parents shared their daughter’s video next to North’s performance drawing out a comparison and pointed out that the 5-year-old star worked on her song with her father.
“We take PRIDE in creativity, and believe whether a child’s involved or an adult… creativity deserves RESPECT/homage!” they wrote. “What @kimkardashian (Kanye west) are doing with their daughter… with the inspiration of ZaZa & our family in mind is okay… we not mad BUT PLS SHOW LOVE AND SUPPORT TO THE ORIGINAL FIRST!!!” they captioned the post.
Later, Kim commented on the post, saying that North is a “huge fan” of ZaZa and is “inspired” by her.
