Kim Kardashian has apologized to her family about the impact her relationship with ex-husband Kanye West had on them.
She issued the apology in the May 26 episode of “The Kardashians,” after it was revealed that the American rapper was set to release a new rap song.
Kim said her ex coming out with a new song meant “he’s talking mad s*** about me and probably saying whatever.” Her sister, Khloe Kardashian, expressed support for her sister, saying, “most men are not trashing the mother of their kids that publicly.”
The Kardashian matriarch, Kris Jenner, also assured her daughter and told her she had done “nothing but great” to him.
In a confessional, Kim noted how her relationship with West has affected her family and promised she would never let it happen again.
“I do recognize the impact that my relationship has had on my family and that I’ve never had the opportunity to just say, ‘I’m sorry guys,’” she said. “I will never let that happen to you guys again,” she added.
At one point later in the episode, Jenner faced the camera and said, “When people are saying disparaging things about any of us, it hurts all of us.”
She was especially concerned about Kim’s children with West—North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3, saying they might see everything that’s written about their mom and dad one day.
“That’s something that everybody has to be really aware of,” she said.
Amid her struggles because of her past relationship, Kim had the full support of her mom and siblings. During the episode, Khloe told her she should never regret being nice to her ex.
“Karma is always going to be on your side, and you’ll never regret being a good person. You never stoop to other people,” she told Kim.
Kim and West had been married for almost seven years before they decided to split in January 2021. On Feb. 19, 2021, Kim officially filed for divorce from West. The split was said to be “amicable” between the two at the time.
