Kim Kardashian 'Surprised' Ex Kanye West Still Wants Her Back Amid Divorce: Report
KEY POINTS
- Kim Kardashian didn't expect that Kanye West would want a reconciliation after their public split
- The "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" star thinks her ex is a good person, and she respects West
- Kardashian has no plans to get back with West despite his efforts and wants to move forward with the divorce
Kim Kardashian was shocked by her ex Kanye West's effort to win her back.
Kardashian, 41, and West, 44, — who now goes by Ye — split earlier this year. She filed for divorce in February. However, despite their ongoing divorce, the "Gold Digger" rapper has been very open about his plans to keep their family together.
"Kim knows Kanye is a good person and [she] respects him," an unnamed insider told Us Weekly about the exes. "She was surprised by his comments about wanting to get back together."
Another anonymous source told Page Six earlier that Kardashian found it "strange" that West was trying to get back with her when he was dating 22-year-old model Vinetria.
Kardashian and West share four kids — North, 8, Saint, 6, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 2. She hasn't released any statement about West. However, she has been supportive of him and was even present at all of his events when he was about to drop his "Donda" album. They also reunited last month at Virgil Abloh's final Louis Vuitton runway show. Their daughter, North, was also present at the event.
Despite West's effort to win Kardashian back, the reality star is as open about her plans to move forward. According to her lawyer, she "has no desire to reconcile."
"Irreconcilable differences have led to the irremediable breakdown of the marriage, and there is no possibility of saving the marriage through counseling or other means," Kardashian’s camp said in court documents obtained by E! News last week. "The continued maintenance of technical marital status between [Kim] and [Ye] serves no useful purpose, and there is no reason to maintain the legal relationship."
Kardashian also asked the court to declare her legally single. She will agree to "any conditions" that the court may impose to finalize her divorce from West. Kardashian said West and his lawyers have "been non-responsive" in her effort to "move this case forward to a speedy and amicable resolution."
Kardashian is currently dating Pete Davidson, 27. Kardashian's family is supportive of her new romance with the "Saturday Night Live" star. An unnamed tipster told E! News that her family is excited to spend the holidays with him, and her mom, Kris Jenner, was "already obsessed" with the comedian.
