Kim Kardashian West Shares Photos From North West's Baptism In Jerusalem
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian West has shared photos from the April baptism of her daughter, North West. Kim shared the photos Monday to mark North's second birthday. The baptism was held in April in an Armenian church in Jerusalem.
The social media maven took time off from her daughter’s Disneyland birthday party in California to look back at their family trip to Armenia and Jerusalem in April. According to Time, Kim and husband Kanye West took their daughter to the Saint James Cathedral in Israel to be baptized. The Saint James is an Armenian church located in the Old City of Jerusalem.
Kim shared the photos on Instagram. In one caption, she gushed about how special it was to have her daughter baptized in an Armenian church while she was pregnant with her second child.
The photo shows the family facing the altar of the church. Kim was wearing a conservative floor-length gray skirt and a nude-colored long-sleeved top. She had a lace veil over her head and had baby North in her arms. Her husband Kanye wore a white long-sleeved shirt and white trousers.
Another photo shows North sleeping peacefully as the ceremony was going on. The group faces the camera in another photo and the intricate vestments of the officiating priest could be seen.
The family also visited other holy sites while they were in Jerusalem. Kim posted a photo where she says: “This was where Mary took Jesus to wash him off after he died on the cross.”
The Kardashian-West family traveled to Armenia in April to visit Kim's father’s ancestral home. They were joined by Kim’s sister Khloe and a few cousins. They then traveled to Jerusalem, where the baptism took place. Kim’s other sister, Kourtney, wanted to come but was unable because she had given birth to her third child just a few months before.
Kim is expecting her second child sometime in December.
