Kim Kardashian's Paris Robbery An Inside Job? Chauffeur Arrested
In a surprise twist on Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery case, her chauffeur was reportedly one of the 17 individuals arrested over the heist, and the crime is now being called an “inside job.”
The arrests, which also included a 72-year-old gangster and three women, were made after DNA was taken from a diamond-studded pendant dropped by a member of the gang, according to The Telegraph. Police have detained her chauffeur as well and are trying to determine if he reportedly passed on information of her whereabouts to the gang.
Kardashian’s lawyers are going to ask her to confront the suspects as part of the inquiry.
The suspects robbed her of jewellery worth roughly $5.6 million, including her $2.5 to $3 million engagement ring, after tying her up in a Paris apartment on Oct. 3.
The robbery really shook up the reality star. The once-active TV personality became more reclusive and clammed up on social media, where she used to post frequent naked selfies and other provocative images of herself. After the incident took place, a family insider told E! News: “Kim is doing better but she still has a long way to recover from the robbery. She has been receiving some professional counseling. Her friends and family have been really supportive. Her sisters and mom have been checking on her every day.”
Despite the support given by husband Kanye West and other family members, Kim remains terrified that a similar incident might take place. “Kim is very paranoid still when she is alone. She has been having flashbacks and hasn't been sleeping well,” the insider added.
Meanwhile, there have been rumors that Kardashian was on the brink of divorcing West, especially after the robbery took place. The divorce rumors were first sparked by Us Magazine. A source told the publication, “It will take some time before she can do anything, but she doesn’t want to stay married.”
However, there seems to be no truth to the rumors as the two remain committed to their marriage.
