‘Kingdom’ Officially Canceled Ahead Of Season 3 Premiere
“Kingdom” has officially been canceled before the show’s Season 3 premiere.
The announcement regarding the show’s fate was made over the weekend by AT&T Audience Network and Endemol Shine Studios. “We are looking forward to the upcoming third and final season of ‘Kingdom.’ We expect Season 3 to be a great one and appreciate the hard work and dedication from creator and showrunner Byron Balasco, as well as the entire cast and crew. We could not be more proud to have worked with all of them on such an amazing series,” the statement read.
According to TV Line, the mixed martial arts drama, which stars Nick Jonas, Frank Grillo and Matt Lauria, will premiere on Audience Network on May 31 at 8 p.m. EST. The upcoming season will have a total of 10 episodes. “Kingdom” first premiered on DirecTV in 2014, and its central theme was about a group of MMA fighters residing in Venice, California.

Entertainment Weekly reported that “Kingdom” garnered critical acclaim during its first season. This is why a second season was immediately picked up by the network. In July 2016, a third season was announced by Audience Network. As of late, it is still unclear whether or not “Kingdom” was canceled by the network due to low ratings or if it was the decision of the creators to end the story after three seasons.
After the cancellation, Grillo posted a cryptic photo on his Instagram account as his way of saying goodbye to his character, as well as his fans. Jonas, on the other hand, has not yet shared his reaction to the show’s cancellation. In 2014, Grillo spoke with Billboard to admit that he initially refused to work with Jonas because he didn’t think he was fit for the role. But when he auditioned, Grillo immediately realized that he was what he was looking for.
