Kristen Bell reunited with her parents for the first time in over a year to celebrate her father’s birthday.
The 40-year-old actress celebrated her father Tom's birthday Saturday by taking her parents out for dinner. She posted a picture of herself with her mother and her masked father on Instagram on Sunday.
"Saw my parents for the first time in over a year… It was my dad's birthday, so we took him out to a nice dinner and he told me that since it was his birthday he absolutely did not have to take his mask off for the pictures I wanted," the "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" star wrote.
"I get my stubbornness from him. Happy birthday, dad. I'm so glad you're mine," she added.
In the picture, the actress was all smiles and donned a black jacket as she posed with her mother, Lorelei Bell, and father, Tom Bell.
The mother-daughter duo kept their masks on the chin to pose for the photo, while her father kept his mask on. Kristen also posted a selfie with her father while he looked away from the camera. She is one of the five kids Tom and Lorelei share together.
The actress and her husband Dax Shepard, 46, have used their platforms to urge people to maintain social distancing amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier, the couple quarantined at home with their daughters Lincoln, 8, and Delta, 6.
In February, the actress reflected on her mother's profession as a nurse and told People: "I learned how empowering it is to care for someone else and the importance of recognizing when you have to put others before yourself."
At Yahoo's Reset Your Mindset: Pandemic Parenting live-stream special in March, Kristen spoke about parenting her own children with her husband during the pandemic. "Balancing work and parenting and online learning during the pandemic, and especially supporting mental health, it was really hard," she said.
"We're always honest with our kids, and sometimes it's been really hard …We explained what COVID was and why it exists and we told them everything really early on and we just reminded them that we're luckier than most people and we have to do what we can to help others during this time," the actress added.
Kristen is currently filming the television series, "Ultra City Smiths," while "Do, Re & Mi," "Queenpins," and "Gossip Girl" are under post-production. She will also feature in the musical drama, "Molly and the Moon," which also stars Jonathan Groff.
