Lamar Odom has led friends and family to believe he's cleaned up his act after his near-fatal health crisis in October 2015 — but how far has he really come?

The former Los Angeles Lakers star was spotted sipping a cocktail at the Beverly Center in Los Angeles on Sunday. According to TMZ, Odom, 36, was there with a friend, and while the pal shopped, Odom sought refuge inside a mall bar. The publication reports that Odom treated himself to a glass of Cognac while chatting up a few female patrons. The estranged husband of reality TV star Khloé Kardashian is said to have dropped $60 at the bar, though it's not clear how many drinks he had during the sitting.

The sighting comes on the heels of a new episode of “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” during which Odom opened up to fans about his widely reported overdose at a Nevada brothel last fall. The former NBA player shared with Khloé's sister Kourtney Kardashian that he had “a new outlook on life” adding that while he was in a coma he had been visited by several dead loved ones and friends. Toward the end of the episode Khloé showed him photos from his lengthy stay in the hospital that he had not yet seen. In her confessional interview the “KUWTK” star claims she was told by doctors that her estranged husband had just four hours to live.

While Odom claims he plans to change, this is hardly the first time he’s been spotted drinking since the incident. Back in March, some patrons at Johnny O’Brien Pub in Sherman Oaks, California, snapped a photo of Odom ordering drinks with friends there. TMZ reported that he ordered three drinks and stayed at the bar for a few hours, heading out at around 1 a.m. PDT. The following morning Odom was seen wearing the same outfit to church with the Kardashian family.

Odom’s health has been a major stressor for his estranged wife since his near-fatal episode in October. The father of three was hospitalized after being found unconscious inside a Pahrump, Nevada, brothel. He is said to have overdosed on a combination of cocaine and herbal Viagra. It was initially believed that Odom would be left brain-dead from the incident. He has, however, made almost a full recovery.
