Lamar Odom - Khloé Kardashian Update: ‘KUWTK’ Family Accused Of Lying About Odom's ‘Extensive Brain Damage'

The stars of the “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” family have been accused of lying about Lamar Odom’s recovery so they don’t have to visit him at the hospital as often, Radar Online wrote in an exclusive report Tuesday. Even though the famous reality family claimed Odom showed signs of improvement, his condition is much worse than they have admitted. They just want to protect their public image.

“He really only ever mumbles, and can barely string a few words together. It’s obvious he has extensive brain damage,” an insider said about the former Los Angeles Lakers player. “Lamar’s still having a lot of trouble speaking.”

People magazine also published a story Tuesday that said Odom is far from recovered. "Lamar won't likely leave the hospital for a long time," says the source. "And when he does, he will need full-time care. He can't take care of himself,” an insider said about the ex-NBA star, 36.

Though Radar Online questions the “KUWTK” stars' account of Odom’s health, Kardashian, 31, said his recovery is a “long, long road ahead” during an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Nov. 13. Odom was off all the machines to help his organs, but “still he has such a long way to go,” the reality star said. “He’s learning how to walk again, and feed himself again and put sentences together.”

Odom was found unconscious at a brothel outside Las Vegas on Oct. 13. He reportedly overdosed on cocaine, alcohol and herbal Viagra. He was originally given a 50-50 shot of survival and spent three days in a coma. Kardashian called off her divorce from the athlete and tended to him in a hospital after his apparent overdose. She recently had to take a break to take care of herself after she contracted a staph infection.
