Lamar Odom-Khloé Kardashian Update: ‘KUWTK’ Star Left Odom’s Side Due To Family’s Concern Over Her Mental Health

Khloé Kardashian has revealed that her family forced her to leave Lamar Odom’s bedside, fearing for her mental health. The “Keeping Up With the Kardashians” star didn’t leave her estranged husband for nearly a month after he was hospitalized following an alleged drug overdose at a Las Vegas brothel last month.

Kardashian spoke out during an interview with the San Diego Union-Tribune last week to promote her new book "Strong Looks Better Naked."

"Just recently I've been in the hospital for almost three and a half weeks straight, and finally everyone was saying, 'Khloé, you have to get out of the hospital and just for an hour, go to the gym and do something that's for you. Nothing's going to happen to Lamar,'" Kardashian recalled. "I had such anxiety going to the gym, but as soon as I left, and Kendall and I worked out with my trainer, I felt like, 'Oh my god, I'm okay. I'm a human again!'"

The 31-year-old reality TV star added: "I just felt so good. But for those three-and-a-half weeks, I didn't think about the gym because I was thinking about other things, and I don't beat myself up about it."

Kardashian’s comments about her struggle amid Odom’s hospitalization came as TMZ reported that the former Los Angeles Lakers player is still not in a very good shape, despite reports that he is recovering.

According to the TMZ report, Odom is facing trouble recognizing some close friends and family, giving rise to concern that he might have a severe brain damage.

Kardashian said in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres on Friday that she has not told Odom about his overdose at the brothel because she does not want to upset him.

“We tell him that he had a brain injury, but we can’t tell him how that brain injury was caused, because that will set him back,” Kardashian said, in the interview, adding: “He’s really confused a lot -- sometimes he knows who the president is and his birthday, and sometimes he thinks he’s 26, and I say I bet you wish you were 26. So do I!”

Kardashian and Odom had signed their divorce papers in July but called it off due to Odom’s medical condition. However, she has continued to date Houston Rockets guard James Harden. Reports also surfaced that Harden is trying to keep distance from his girlfriend as he is tired of the drama revolving around Odom. Khloé is also reportedly "emotionally drained" dating Harden and caring for Odom at the same time.
