‘Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild’ Master Trials DLC Pack Hard Mode, New Equipment And More Explained
The first “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” DLC Pack is scheduled for release this summer. Find out more information about this downloadable content before it arrives.
For gamers who have already completed “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild,” Nintendo is teasing the first downloadable content that will add more play time to the action-adventure video game. In a recent update, the developer stated that the Expansion Pass will be providing players with access to the first DLC pack called The Master Trials this summer.
In a detailed overview of the upcoming DLC pack, Nintendo shed light on what can fans expect from the new content that comes with a new mode, new equipment and so much more.
New Gaming Mode
Hard Mode - This mode is described to be challenging than the already thrilling gaming experience “Breath of the Wild” provides. In this mode, the ranks of enemies are increased. As an example, Red Bokoblins are turning to Blue Bokoblins in this mode. Their health also regenerate quickly, so players must knock them out as fast as possible. Players are also bound to encounter enemies with higher maximum levels that were not present in normal play. Lastly, this Hard Mode features floating planks. Links will have to try and reach these planks to get access to more treasure chests and to battle more enemies.
New Feature
Hero’s Path Mode - Despite being labeled as a mode, Nintendo considers this as more of a map feature that players can use to keep track of the path Link is taking while walking around Hyrule. Activating this feature will enable players to track Link’s path from the last 200 hours of gameplay. The tracker will display information on which areas players spent most of their time for exploration. Basically, what this feature does is help players discover more places and shrines, since this will show the locations where Link has only been to.
New Equipment And Items
More Armor - The developers revealed that when the DLC pack arrives, players will get the chance to obtain eight new pieces of equipment that were inspired by previous characters and installments from the “Zelda” series. Nintendo’s update indicated that some of the equipment were based from Majora’s Mask, Phantom, Midna and Tingle.
Travel Medallion - The first Expansion Pass DLC Pack will also come with a Travel Medallion, but Nintendo did not state where players can find this item. What’s known about this item is it is hidden in a new treasure chest that is located somewhere in the game world of “Breath of the Wild.” The Travel Medallion has this capacity to make it easy and fast for Link to travel to a destination. So once found, players can use this item to register a travel point on the map that Link can swiftly transport to at any time. However, players are only allowed to register one travel point at a time.
Korok Mask - Just like the Travel Medallion, this Korok Mask is also hidden inside a treasure chest. If found, players can use this item to easily locate the 900 Koroks scattered in Hyrule. Link only needs to wear this mask because it automatically shakes when a hidden Korok is nearby.
New Challenge
Trial of the Sword - This new challenge is activated when players manage to get to a certain sacred location. Players will have to face 45 trials that involve an onslaught of enemies. At the start, Link will be deprived of equipment and weapons. Then as the challenge progresses, the character will have access to them. The protagonist will only awaken the true power of the Master Sword once all the room trials have been conquered.
The Expansion Pass of “The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild” expands the Hyrule-set adventure of Link since it grants access to the DLC packs of the game. For players who want to obtain the first DLC pack that is scheduled for release this summer, they need to pay $19.99 first for the Expansion Pass that is available for both the Nintendo Switch and Wii U. Another DLC pack is scheduled for release during the holiday season later this year.
