If you’re a NASA fan, you might want to get this new Lego set. Lego is bringing NASA’s historic Saturn V rocket into your home with its new huge set resembling the rocket, the company announced Thursday. Lego's Saturn V Rocket set has a June 1 release date.

Saturn V, the most powerful rocket flown successfully, was used in the Apollo program in 1960s and 1970s to send people to the moon. The Saturn V was also used to launch the Skylab space station.

After a year of developments, the LEGO Ideas 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V was officially introduced Friday. The set was designed by LEGO Ideas members Felix Stiessen (saabfan) and Valérie Roche (whatsuptoday).

“With 1969 LEGO elements the 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V rockets its way into LEGO Ideas history as the tallest LEGO Ideas set, as well as the one containing most elements,” Lego said in a blog post.

The Lego rocket is three feet (1 meter) tall. The Saturn V was originally 363 feet tall (111 meters), almost as big as a 36-story building. The rocket weighed 6.2 million pounds, about the weight of 400 elephants, and had a thrust power of 34.5 million newtons.

What’s Included In The Lego Saturn V Set

Lego's Saturn V rocket set will hit stores June 1 and will be priced at $119.99 or $109.99 euros.

The set can be divided into three sections, the S-IC, S-II and the S-IVB stages. It comes with three stands, so you can display the rocket horizontally. Lego will also have three new astronaut microfigures for role-play recreations of the Moon landings ready by June. The set will also include a booklet about the Apollo missions and the fan designers of the Lego Saturn V.

The designers of the Saturn V rocket, who share a “passion for space exploration,” worked on the project long-distance, Lego said.

“Despite never meeting in person, space and LEGO fans Felix Stiessen and Valérie Roche beat the odds with their wonderfully brick built version of the iconic Apollo rocket,” Lego said in the post.

“There were often times when one of us abandoned the project for a few weeks and came back to it later; however, thanks to the fact that it is a collaborative project, it was always the case that one of us continued making progress on the project and re-motivated the other," Stiessen said in a statement.

Designers Michael Psiaki and Carl Thomas Mirriam, who are also space lovers, worked on the Lego rocket as well.

"We were actually not asked,” said Psiaki, “I was so excited when I heard that the project was potentially going to happen, and told Carl about it because I knew he was also a space fanatic. We decided it would be really cool to work together since it is such a big mode, so we approached the Ideas team about helping develop the product."
