Lenovo Announces Five New Android Tablets
Lenovo has announced five new Android tablets, including a couple of models running Android Oreo Go Edition. Lenovo’s new tablets are all low- and mid-range devices designed for media consumption and light usage.
Lenovo Tab E7
The Lenovo Tab E7 is the entry-level Android tablet that comes with a starting price of just $69. This is the tablet that’s running Android Oreo Go Edition, which means that it should still run smoothly despite having meager internal specs. The device is powered by a MediaTek MT8167 or a MediaTek MT8321, the latter will be for the 3G model. The device also has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
As for the screen of the Tab E7, it comes with a 7-inch display with a resolution of 1,024 x 600. The tablet isn’t going to wow anyone with these set of specs, but it should be more than enough for a device that’s going to be used for reading e-books or watching video content on YouTube or Netflix, as pointed out by Engadget.
The Lenovo Tab E7 will be a Walmart-exclusive Android tablet and will be available sometime in October.
Lenovo Tab E8
The Lenovo Tab E8 is another low-end Android tablet that features an 8-inch display with a resolution of 1,280 x 800. This tablet should be ideal for users who may feel that the Tab E7 is a tad small. The Lenovo Tab E8 is powered by a MediaTek MT8163B processor and it has 1GB RAM and up to 16GB of storage. Unfortunately, the Lenovo E8 won’t run Android Oreo. Instead, the device will only run Android Nougat.
The Tab E8 also comes with a front-facing speaker that’s supported by Dolby Atmos. This should make watching content more enjoyable. Lenovo claims that this tablet will be able to offer up to 10 hours of local video playback.
The Lenovo Tab E8 is exclusive to Walmart stores and is available now starting at $99.99.
Lenovo Tab E10
The Tab E10 is specifically designed for families who want to have the best tablet experience at home. It comes with a 10-inch 1,280 x 800 display and stereo front-facing speakers that are supported by Dolby Atmos. The Tab E10 is also a bit more powerful than the Tab E8 and Tab E7 since it’s being powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor. It can also be configured to come with 2GB of RAM and up to 16GB of storage.
Lenovo says that the Tab E10, which comes with a starting price of $129.99, will be available in Walmart stores and select retailers starting in October. Like the Tab E7, the Tab E10 is also running Android Oreo Go Edition, accoridng to The Verge.
Lenovo Tab M10 & Lenovo Tab P10
The E-series appears to be the Lenovo entry-level tablets, while the M-series steps it up in terms of power and display size. The Tab E10 comes with a 10.1-inch display with 1,920 x 1,200 screen resolution. The high-resolution display should be more than enough to watch full HD content. It also has two speakers with Dolby Atmos support.
Inside, it’s being powered by a Qualcomm 450 processor and it has up to 3GB of RAM and up to 32GB of storage. It’s also running Android Oreo and it has a 5MP rear camera and a 2MP front-facing camera.
The Tab M10 is also designed for families that have kids, which is why it comes with an optional Kid’s Pack that includes a shock-resistant bumper. The tablet has a kids’ mode, which curates appropriate content for children.
The Tab P10 is probably the most powerful tablet in Lenovo’s fresh lineup. It comes with a 10.1-inch 1920 x 1080 display, four speakers with Dolby Atmos support and a fingerprint scanner. It also has an 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front-facing camera. Inside, the Android tablet is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 processor and it has up to 4GB of RAM and up to 32GB of storage.
Lenovo hasn’t revealed pricing for the Tab M10 and the Tab P10, but it looks like these two models will be the most expensive out of the five new devices. Lenovo said the Tab M10 and Tab P10 will be available this winter exclusively from Amazon.
