Liam Hemsworth and Gabriella Brooks were spotted dining out together shortly after Miley Cyrus' candid confessions about her relationship with her ex-husband.
On Friday, Hemsworth and Brooks were seen at a restaurant in Byron Bay, Australia, looking relaxed as they exited the eatery. The actor wore a gray T-shirt and black sunglasses for the casual outing, while his model girlfriend sported a white tank top and matching white denim shorts, Us Weekly reported.
An insider told the outlet earlier this year that Hemsworth feels more at home with his current girlfriend than with Cyrus as he "feels like he can be his complete self without any drama." Brooks also helped boost his confidence and played an encouraging role following his split from the singer, according to the source.
"They are very happy together and it’s comfortable and easy," the insider said of Hemsworth and Brooks' relationship.
Hours before their sighting, Cyrus made headlines due to her tell-all interview on the "Call Her Daddy" podcast. While speaking to host Alexandra Cooper, the "Midnight Sky" singer shared intimate details about her relationship with Hemsworth, including one thing she hid from for a decade.
"I didn’t go all the way with a dude [until] I was 16 — it wasn’t Nick Jonas — but I ended up marrying the guy. So that’s pretty crazy," Cyrus said, referring to the "Hunger Games" actor.
"I lied and said he wasn’t the first so I didn’t seem like a loser," she continued. "It was a lie I held onto for 10 years."
Cyrus also discussed their breakup and the criticism she received over the way she handled their split.
The singer was linked to Kaitlynn Carter shortly after she and Hemsworth parted ways. But Cyrus said that despite moving on quickly, their divorce felt like losing a loved one and that she was trying "not get lost in the emotion."
"I had a very public, very big breakup that was a 10-year span of a relationship," Cyrus added. "I tried not to get lost in the emotion. It’s like a death. When you lose a loved one, it’s that deep. It feels like a death."
"There’s no handbook about how to deal with heartbreak," she continued. "I feel like, as a woman, I was villainized for moving on. They made me seem like I was disloyal, which is so against my f—king character. You attack my f—king character, and my character is everything. It’s my foundation."
