Lili Reinhart Teases Possible Love Triangle Between Betty, Archie, Jughead In ‘Riverdale’?

Lili Reinhart may have just hinted on another love triangle between Betty, Archie (KJ Apa) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) in “Riverdale” Season 2.

On Wednesday night’s episode, Betty will confide in Archie when she gets a call from the Black Hood killer. Her boyfriend, Jughead, is preoccupied with all things south side that’s why he may not be around when Betty needs him the most. Luckily, Betty’s best friend will understand her struggle with the big bad because Archie used to be their target.

“Betty ends up confiding in Archie,” she told TV Line. Apa added, “I think Archie’s number-one person to go to for help, or advice, or just someone to talk to, has always been Betty, for as long as he can remember… They’re best friends, and when s--- hits the fan, Betty goes to Archie and Archie goes to Betty.”

At present, Archie is also in a relationship with Veronica, and his closeness with Betty may not sit well with her. After all, Betty used to have feelings for Archie, but he justcouldn’t reciprocate them.

Meanwhile, Reinhart also hinted on what the Black Hood wants from Betty. The actress said that it’s something that could jeopardize her relationship with Jughead. Sprouse said, “It would not be a show about teenagers if there was not some fumbling and some bumbling and some grumbling. I think it’s a wonder something didn’t happen sooner for poor Jughead and poor Betty.”

In the teaser released by The CW for episode 5, Betty asks the Black Hood to not hurt “her.” Unfortunately, it is unclear if she was referring to her mom, Alice (Madchen Amick), sister, Polly (Tiera Skovbye), or any one of her female friends.

Elsewhere in “Chapter Eighteen: When A Stranger Calls,” Archie and Veronica’s bond will also be put to the test because her ex-boyfriend, Nick St. Clair (Graham Phillip) will visit Riverdale. According to Apa, Nick will definitely stir the pot in the upcoming installment.

“Obviously, with him being Veronica’s ex-boyfriend, things can get gnarly, especially because Archie’s very protective of Veronica,” he said.
