'Long Island Medium' Stars Theresa, Larry Caputo Split After 28 Years

Theresa Caputo and Larry Caputo have split.

The "Long Island Medium" stars issued a joint statement announcing their separation. "After 28 years of marriage, we have decided to legally separate. We will always love each other and our two wonderful children. We are united in supporting each other and our family. Please respect our privacy during this time," the announcement read (via People).

According to Theresa, her relationship with her ex-husband has changed over time. They were already having issues since the last season of their reality TV series on TLC, but they remain to be there for each other despite their marital issues. She confessed that she did not understand how things ended up this way. "I don't understand it. I lay in bed, and I say to myself, 'How did this happen? How did I get there?'" the medium said.

Theresa described the strain on their marriage as growing apart. For her, they both changed and are no longer happy together.

"I sometimes interpret it as growing apart. I've changed and he has changed. We're both not happy and, you know, it's hard to try to work through that," she continued. "It's not easy for me to sit here and to talk about this, to talk about my feelings, to talk about how my marriage is, but you know, things do change."

Although Theresa and Larry are separating, sources close to the couple are hopeful that they will eventually reconcile. The two are reportedly taking some time apart, but they still love each other. Thus, there could be a room for reconciliation, TMZ reported.

Theresa and Larry share two children, Larry Jr. and Victoria. Back in February, the reality mom shared a snap of their family on Instagram. In the photo, they all look happy as they grin on the camera.

Theresa and Larry have been featured on TLC since 2011. The former meets several people to predict their future and provide psychic insights. According to her, she can communicate with the dead. In November, in a teaser for "Long Island Medium," she already hinted that her marriage with Larry was on the rocks.
