  • Louise Linton said Melania Trump is "elegant, beautiful, regal, and kind"

Steve Mnuchin's wife Louise Linton is very fond of Melania Trump that she showered her with praise on social media after dining with the First Lady in the White House. The Scottish actress did not just gush over Melania, she also defended the FLOTUS from the critics slamming her online.

"There is no one more elegant, beautiful, regal, and kind than our stunning First Lady, Melania. Her poise, grace, and strength touch and inspire me. Thank you for hosting spouses of the cabinet today. It was an honor to toast you and to sit by your side. @flotus," she wrote on Instagram along with their photo taken from the event.

For the occasion, the pair wore matching pink outfits. Linton wore a pink tweed skirt suit by designer Alessandra Rich and tied her blonde hair back. Melania also wore a pink dress with cap-sleeve sheath at the gathering. President Donald Trump's wife styled her hair loosely and let it down around her shoulders. She wore her signature makeup — dark, smokey eyeshadow and a pink lip.

Linton's post received mixed reactions from the netizens. Several said that the two ladies in the photo are beautiful. Meanwhile, others only praised Linton for her work in protecting the animals and slammed the POTUS' wife. But Linton took the time to defend Melania from her critics.

"If Melania was a good person, she would speak out against the poor children in cages. Or speak out against animal abuse. Sorry, not my kind," one commented.

"She did speak out about the children in cages and as a result the president reversed/ended the practice," Linton responded.

Meanwhile, another user questioned Linton for being an animal rights activist and associating herself with the Trumps. Donald Trump Jr. made headlines in June for hunting a rare mountain sheep. The same netizen also asked Linton if she’s aware of the land that’s being ripped away from the wild horses due to the first family's "corporate agendas."

"I appreciate your passion for our animals. Yes, I share that passion. I have advocated for our wild horses with DOI and have personally rescued horses from the Bureau of Land Management. I also campaign against trophy hunting and financially contribute to numerous anti poaching charities," Linton wrote.

"I have also spoken publicly against Don Juniors hunting habits. I have clarity and I spend half of my day every day fighting on behalf of animal welfare. That does not mean I can’t appreciate Melania as an individual," she added.

In related news, Amy Kremer, co-founder of Women for Trump, recently aired her disappointment on social media over how the press reacted differently to Melania and Kamala Harris' wearing the same Timberland boots. The press praised Harris but slammed Melania, and Kremer said it was "media bias."
