A man in Jefferson County, Kentucky, was killed after he was struck by two different drivers on the same night over the weekend, police said.
The unnamed victim was first hit near the intersection of Louis Coleman Jr. Drive and West Broadway in Louisville's Shawnee neighborhood shortly before 8 p.m. last Saturday, local newspaper The Courier-Journal reported, citing the Louisville Metro Police Department (LMPD).
The car fled the scene after the incident, but a second driver later hit the victim as well, according to the outlet.
The second driver stopped and the man was sent to the hospital, where he died.
It was unclear if authorities were investigating the incident.
A 37-year-old in West Midlands, England, also died over the weekend after he was struck by two different cars as well, according to local authorities.
The second victim, who was not named, was walking along the junction connecting Saltwells Road with Cradley Road when he was hit by two separate vehicles Sunday morning, the West Midlands Police said in a statement released on the same day as the incident.
Authorities responded to the scene of the crash at around 12:40 a.m., where paramedics provided him with emergency aid. He was then taken to a hospital in critical condition, but he passed away a short time later, police said in the statement.
The drivers for both vehicles, stayed at the scene and helped authorities with their inquiries, police said.
No arrests have been made over the incident.
"Our priority now is to find out what happened and what led up to the collision," Detective Sergeant Paul Hughes, who is leading the investigation, was quoted as saying.
A similar incident to both crashes happened in Australia when a 36-year-old electric scooter rider was caught on camera being ran over by a van twice.
The unnamed rider was travelling at high speed along a driveway in Sydney's Summer Hill area, but he fell forward off his scooter and landed in front of a moving van.
The van, which was exiting the driveway at the time, drove over the man's torso, video footage of the incident showed. The vehicle then reversed and crushed the rider a second time.
"Why the f--k did you reverse back?" the rider shouted at the driver of the van.
"I didn't see you," the driver replied.
The rider, who suffered head injuries and broken ribs, allegedly survived due to his helmet.
Burwood Police Acting Commander Andrew Graham claimed the rider was "lucky not to be killed or more seriously injured."
Police are investigating the crash and have confirmed the scooter's rider is at fault. He is reportedly likely to be charged and fined for riding an electric scooter on a public footpath, which is illegal in the state of New South Wales.
