“Lucifer” Season 2 will revolve around Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) searching for his mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) who just escaped from Hell.

FOX dropped a new teaser for the hit series featuring Lucifer talking to Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris) about his mom. In the clip, Lucifer couldn’t contain his fear over the idea that his mom is just somewhere in Los Angeles. Spoiler TV previously confirmed that Lucifer and Charlotte don’t have a very good relationship because the former actually takes after his father.

The next scene from the teaser showed Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt) reacting to Lucifer’s revelation that his mom escaped from Hell. By the looks of it, Maze wouldn’t be very happy with Charlotte’s presence in Lucifer’s life. Previously, Lucifer and Maze had a brief falling out after the latter tried to get in the way of the former’s relationship with Chloe Decker (Lauren German). In the finale, Maze left Lucifer and Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) without telling them where she would go.

Meanwhile, Charlotte will have such a wonderful time on Earth. The clip showed the female character dancing at a bar. She’s unstoppable, fearless and she also wants to become extremely involved in her sons’ lives. While speaking with TV Line, Helfer clarified the misconception that her character is just all fun and games. “She wants to be with them, and she wants to get back what was taken from her. You’re not thinking there’s a maternal side to her, but there really is,” she said.

At one point, Charlotte will also use and abuse her powers while on Earth. She will physically hurt those who will get in her way and this will alarm her sons Lucifer and Amenadiel.

“Lucifer” Season 2 will premiere on FOX on Sept. 19 at 9 p.m. ET.
