‘Lucifer’ Season 2 Spoilers: Lucifer Reveals His True Self To [SPOILER] In Episode 6 ‘Monster’ [RECAP]
Fox’s “Lucifer” aired a Halloween-themed episode in which one character’s true form was revealed. Lucifer Morningstar, the owner of the posh club named Lux, had killed his brother Uriel in episode 5. Episode 6 kicked off right where the previous one left off with the devil realizing that he killed his brother.
Here’s what happened in “Monster”:
A Zombie-Themed Wedding Gone Wrong
“Lucifer” Season 2, episode 6 begins with a couple tying the knot in a zombie-themed wedding on Halloween. All goes well until they exchange rings and a shooter puts a bullet in the groom’s arm. Within seconds, the shooter also shoots the bride. But he puts a bullet in her chest and sends her to the land of the dead.
Detective Chloe Decker (Lauren German) arrives to the crime scene and starts investigating.
Elsewhere, Lucifer (Tom Ellis) is busy drowning the guilt he feels after killing his brother in alcohol and lots and lots of sex. He arrives at the crime scene a little late and drunk. Chloe is obviously not happy and realizes something is off about the devil.
Lucifer may be off the rails, but he’s still a great detective. He uses his “persuasion skills” to coax a bridesmaid for some information on the deceased. Turns out that she was jealous of the bride and told his ex-boyfriend the place and time of her wedding.
Lucifer Is Off The Rails
Like always, the fallen angel isn’t dealing with his emotions at all. He interrogates the ex-boyfriend without Dan/Detective Douche (Kevin Alejandro) and Chloe’s approval. Instead of the good old good cop-bad cop routine, he flashes his red eyes and gets the man to confess that he didn’t kill his ex-girlfriend. However, he did see a musician carrying a guitar case. Given that the wedding had a DJ and no musician, the detective realizes that the guitar case was his rife case and the musician is the shooter.
Amenadiel Bonds With His Mother
Meanwhile, Amenadiel (D.B. Woodside) is busy processing his guilt and grief alone. His mother Charlotte (Tricia Helfer) takes him for a walk and shows him the place the devil buried Uriel (Michael Imperioli).
His mother tells him that he has always taken responsibilities on his shoulders without question and without a break. He has always tried to please his father God blindly. Amenadiel is done pleasing his father. He decides he’s done with him.
The Investigation
Back to the case in “Lucifer” Season 2, episode 6, Chloe gets a new lead: a food truck owned by a man name Freddy. Their shooter purchased a dessert from there on the day of the shooting. However, before Chloe and Lucifer can question him about anything, he shoots them from the top of a building.
Chloe then realizes that the shooter is targeting the spouses of his actual victims in order to get back at them. The deceased bride was going to marry a litigator and Freddy’s wife looks at malpractices at a hospital.
The shooter is a man whose wife died of lung cancer and he filed a malpractice lawsuit against the hospital. However, his case was dismissed by the judge. Angry and embittered with his wife’s death, he is killing the loved ones of the people involved in his malpractice.
Trixie Goes Trick-Or-Treating With Maze
Meanwhile, Chloe is having some issues with Maze (Lesley-Ann Brandt). She installs a sex swing in the dining area and leaves ample sex toys for display in her room. The detective sets some ground rules for them to live together.
Later, when the detective’s sitter bolts after seeing the sex toys, Chloe is left with no option but to ask Maze to take her daughter trick-or-treating. Maze agrees and the two bond over candy and costumes. Maze is even comfortable enough to show her true face to Trixie (Scarlett Estevez) since she thinks it’s her Halloween costume.
Lucifer Reveals His True Form
The devil is full of guilt and arrives just in time at the hospital to stop the shooter from putting a bullet in one of the doctors who was trying to treat his wife’s illness. However, the fallen angel makes a rash move by putting himself before the victim and asking the shooter to shoot him. Of course, the shooter doesn’t, and Chloe arrives just in time to cuff him.
Chloe tells her partner that he needs to talk to someone about his feelings before it eats him up alive. So, Lucifer goes to Dr. Linda Martin (Rachael Harris). However, the psychologist is sick of hearing his “metaphors.” She demands him to tell her the whole truth. No lies. No metaphors.
Lucifer decides to do just that by revealing his true face to the doctor – red eyes, a red face and an evil smile. However, the truth proves to be too much for her to handle. She looks petrified as the devil leaves her clinic.
“Lucifer” Season 2 airs on Mondays at 9 p.m. EDT on Fox.
