Machine Gun Kelly Reveals Details About Megan Fox's Engagement Ring: 'Bands Are Actually Thorns'
Machine Gun Kelly, whose real name is Colson Baker, has revealed interesting details about the two-stoned engagement ring he carefully designed for Megan Fox with the help of British jewelry designer Stephen Webster.
"It's a thoroughbred Colombian emerald, with no treatment. It was just carved into the teardrop, straight out of the mine," the 31-year-old rapper told Vogue on Monday. "And the diamond was directly from Stephen."
Kelly went on to explain the concept behind the ring and how it can "come apart to make two rings." He also disclosed that the piece is held in place by a magnet and it's supposed to hurt when the wearer takes it off.
"So you see how it snaps together? And then it forms an obscure heart. And you see this right here? The bands are actually thorns. So if she tries to take it off, it hurts," he explained.
"Love is pain!" Kelly added.
A netizen shared a closeup of the engagement ring on Twitter.
Fox, who also joined Kelly for the interview, opened up about how Kelly has affected her sense of style. According to the 35-year-old actress, her style has changed since she met the rapper.
"Before it wasn't something I was focused on or thought about. Because as an actress I had been classified or put in the category of being a sex symbol," she said.
Fox also shared how the publicists were not dressing her the way she liked and as a result, she "gave up on fashion."
"I was like, I don't f--king care, whatever you put me in because I'm not going to like it anyway," she said further.
Fox then noted that musicians have the freedom to dress up the way they want.
"They can be so much more flamboyant than actors usually can," she said. "Prior to being famous everyone who knew me always knew that I would always wear one really insane piece, and everybody would be like, 'you dress weird.'"
The actress also complimented Kelly for the way he dresses, saying, "He's slightly eccentric in the way that he dressed — and that has freed me up to express myself more. And he helped hook me up with Maeve Reilly, my stylist."
Kelly and Fox got engaged on Jan. 11 in Puerto Rico.
Apparently, the rapper popped the question under the same banyan tree where they sat together in June 2020, the same month they went public with their relationship.
On the work front, Fox will be next seen in the American dark comedy movie "Big Gold Brick," which will be released next month. As for Kelly, he announced earlier this month that he plans to release two fresh albums this year.
