Madison Beer Denies Dating Brooklyn Beckham Following Jack Gilinsky Split

Madison Beer may be friends with Brooklyn Beckham but that doesn’t mean the two are dating. The singer behind the song “Dead” shut down rumors that she was more than friends with the British heartthrob.

During an interview with AOL’s Build Series, the 18-year-old star admitted that although there are plenty of guys she is interested in, she does not have a boyfriend. “I’m very much single and not ready to mingle,” Beer explained.

“I’m very much focused on my career. I’m just 18 — just trying to navigate my life. And I’m having fun. There are obviously boys that I can crush on and stuff. But I’m very much single,” she added.

Beer came to fame after being discovered by Justin Bieber who saw her video on YouTube featuring herself singing a cover of Etta James’ song “At Last.” The “Purpose” singer was an integral part in getting Beer signed to Island Records and kickstarting her career.

With talent and notoriety, Beer has made plenty of famous friends but her most notable friendship maybe the one with Beckham. “I’ve known Brooklyn for years, we’ve been really close and as we’ve gotten older — and I’m newly out of a relationship, we’re definitely like crushing on each other,” the singer stated.

Beer previously dated musician Jack Gilinsky, who in a leaked recording was heard verbally abusing her. Since it’s release, Beer admitted that she stayed with her former beau after his harsh words. “Many of you [have been] asking me ‘Why would you stay with him if it happened last year!’” Beer wrote in a post.

“My theory was, and as horrible as this is, is that if I left him, he’d do it to the next girl. I tried to fix him,” she explained.

Beer eventually ended the relationship and encouraged fans to leave situations in which they are not treated correctly. “Don’t make the same mistakes I did, your safety is never worth it. No matter what, no one deserves to be treated that way,” she wrote.

The songstress admitted that people are blind to things happening in front of their faces. “You also have no idea what goes on behind closed doors,” she told AOL’s Build Series.

“There’s so many boys who people idolize where it’s like, if you only knew what was going on, you’d probably be like ‘Whoa.’ But don’t attack a girl just cause you see one photo of her and a guy in public and then you have no idea what this person is doing behind closed doors with this person,” Beer said.

As far as her current love life goes, Beer isn’t thinking about starting up a romance with Beckham. “But we’re both very busy. He’s great, though. He’s a cutie, literally one of my best friends. We’re seriously best friends. We hang out every day with our whole group of friends in L.A. together,” she said.

Although the two seem to have amazing chemistry Beer insisted that dating the son of David and Victoria Beckham just isn’t going to happen. “People are like, ‘Oh no, you guys are definitely dating.’ But he’s moving to New York in two weeks — it’s not really realistic. … We’re just having fun right now,” she explained.

Although Beckham will be moving to New York soon, Beer is currently in the city make press rounds and appearing on various shows. Only time will tell when the two will reunite for another friendly outing.
