Madonna Cancels Last Two Shows Of Ongoing Tour Due To Coronavirus

Madonna has joined the list of musicians who have decided to cancel their gigs due to the coronavirus outbreak. The iconic musician has decided to cancel the last two shows of the ongoing Madame X tour in Paris because of the restrictions imposed by the government of France due to the spread of coronavirus.
In a press release obtained by Billboard, the 61-year-old pop icon stated that she and her team will be following all the restrictions that have been imposed on large gatherings in various parts of France due to the coronavirus outbreak and revealed that the last two shows of the tour have been canceled.
The decision was taken after they got a notification from authorities that a gathering of more than 1,000 people is prohibited as per government orders.
“Following official notification from the Office of the Police this morning prohibiting all events with an audience attendance of over 1000, Live Nation regrets to announce the final two Madame X performances previously re-scheduled to 10-March and 11-March are forced to be canceled,” the statement read.
Last October, the “4 Minutes” hitmaker postponed her concert at Brooklyn Academy of Music due to a previously undisclosed knee injury.
Other musicians like Stormzy, Mariah Carey, Avril Lavigne, BTS, Green Day, and Slipknot have canceled their respective shows due to the deadly disease. All the artists have not announced when will they be returning to the stage.
Many major events have been canceled due to the disease, as well. Famous fashion brands like Gucci, Prada, Giorgio Armani, and Ralph Lauren canceled all their shows till the situation returns to normal.
Sporting events like Bahrain Grand Prix and the Chinese Grand Prix have also faced the heat. Formula 1 recently announced that the Chinese Grand Prix has been postponed while the race in Bahrain will be closed to the spectators. Meanwhile, FIFA announced that the Asian Qualifiers for the World Cup 2022 have been postponed.
Big organizations like Adobe, Facebook, and Google have called off their annual conferences due to the rising cases of coronavirus in the U.S. The annual event of Mobile World Congress in Barcelona was also axed this year when companies like LG, Sony, Amazon, Facebook, Nvidia, and many others pulled out from the event.
According to CNN, more than 4,000 people have died worldwide due to the virus that has infected more than 113,000 all around the world. The cases in the U.S. have risen to 728 and a total of 26 people have died because of it.
