Is Maks Leaving ‘DWTS’ After 2014? Chmerkovskiy Wants Meryl Davis To Be His Last Partner

“Dancing with the Stars” hunk Maksim Chmerkovskiy didn’t help those pesky dating rumors when he said he wanted 2014 Sochi Olympic gold medalist and Season 18 Mirror Ball champion Meryl Davis to be his last dance partner.

But the Ukrainian born choreographer made sure to tell Social Life magazine he’s bonded with many of his partners since being on “DWTS.”

"I am very close with a few of my past partners because they have played a huge role in a big part of my life," the dancer said, according to Us Weekly. "Three months is a long time, and if I am going to give someone that much of my time, I am going to develop a relationship with that person."

Though Chmerkovskiy has expressed his love for the figure skater, he explained his past connections to past partners from “DWTS” by comparing them to summer romances. He’s been happily paired with Erin Andrews, Mel B., and Kirstie Alley.

"Do you know what a showmance is? It is like being at a summer camp when you're a teenager," Chmerkovskiy, 34, explained. "You spend summertime away from your home. When you spend three months very closely with someone at a particular place, it is like a summer love. You have no choice but to get involved with that person."

But Davis is different from everyone else. He doesn’t know if he’ll ever get another partner like her and is unsure if he will return to the hit ABC reality show. "I want Meryl to be the last person I dance with," he said, "the last person I got to be passionate with and care so much for."

It sounds ultra-romantic, but it could be bad news for “DWTS” fans who look forward to seeing Chmerkovskiy on the show.

Just because he’s given up on finding another partner on the dance floor, it doesn’t mean he’s given up on love. Chermkovskiy told the magazine he wants to starts a family, eventually, even if it’s not with Davis as many fans would like to see happen. "I raised so many children at the studio that I am ready to create one of my own," the single star said.

His exes include “DWTS” pros Karina Smirnoff and Peta Murgatroyd and Sports Illustrated model Kate Upton. "I am really ready to have a family now. I need an outlet. I have so much I want to give, and I need someone to give it to." He was recently rumored to be dating Jennifer Lopez, but sources from Us Weekly denied the claims.
