Maksim Chmerkovskiy And Jennifer Lopez Dating Rumors Are False: Report

Good news for people who were upset about the Maksim Chmerkovskiy and Jennifer Lopez dating rumors: They’re false! At least that’s what a source told Us Weekly on Thursday.

J-Lo recently broke up with boy-toy Casper Smart and on Wednesday night People magazine reported she had her prowling cougar eyes on the 34-year-old “Dancing With the Stars” pro. Turns out they are “just friends” and singer, 44, isn’t ready to date just yet. It was confirmed by “multiple” sources.

"She doesn't have a second to date anyone right now and it is definitely not romantic with Maksim," one source said. The former “American Idol” judge is busy promoting her new album, “A.K.A.,” after her split from her boyfriend of two years.

Apparently Chmerkovskiy and Lopez met through mutual friend Leah Remini. Remini appeared on “DWTS” Season 17. Remini, Lopez and Chmerkovskiy attended Val Chmerkovskiy’s 28^th birthday in March, which is where the dating rumor seems to have stemmed.

"Leah is trying to play matchmaker with Maks and Jennifer.” The source said, "She's really egging it on and encouraging it."

They also performed together at the American Music Awards in November, but the sources insisted their relationship is platonic.

Though it would seem like Lopez is going for someone a lot younger by dating a man who is 10 years her junior, it’s a much closer age gap than her last relationship. She started dating Smart when he was 24 and she was 42! As for their split, it was reportedly “amicable” and "they are both in a good place now."

Reps for Lopez and Chmerkovskiy haven’t commented on the rumor.
