Mama June Dating Rumors: New Boyfriend, Mark McDaniel, Molested Her Daughter Anna Cardwell: Report
Mama June Shannon, the matriarch on "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo," is reportedly dating Mark McDaniel, a convicted child motester who abused her daughter Anna Cardwell when she was 8-years-old, according to a TMZ report. The news comes after the TLC network recently cancelled the long-running reality show, after reports surfaced that June was romantically involved with a child molester.
June denied rumors that she was dating McDaniel, who was convicted in 2004 of aggravated child molestation, after TMZ posted an alleged photo of them together in a hotel room. Cardwell, who is known as Chickadee on the show, believed her mother when she claimed that she was not dating the man who molested her when she was a minor, sources told TMZ.
TMZ reported that Cardwell has now received more information that lead her to belive that her mother was dating McDaniel again. She also reportedly said that she wanted to be publicly identified as McDaniel's victim. TMZ reported that Cardwell, who now is 22 years old and is married with a child, feels that her relationship with her monther has been destroyed.
According to TMZ, McDaniel dated June in 2004. He served 10 years in prison for molesting an 8-year-old relative of June’s and forcing oral sex.
“I want to make a post trying to clear up the rumors,” the 35-year-old mother of Alana Thompson, wrote on the Facebook page of her daughter’s TV show on Thursday. “Remember you can’t believe everything you read! Ppl sell stories to the tabloid everyday that r false! It isn’t true I promise my kids r #1 priority over anything else and I would never put them in danger period over this or anything else they r my life this is my past I left him 10 yrs ago for it and I wouldn’t go back.”
However, TLC cancelled the realty series “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” after the allegations of June dating the convicted sex offender.
“Supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the children’s ongoing comfort and well-being,” the network said in a statement to USA Today.
