Man Breaks 1-Month-Old Daughter's Bone By Stomping On Her, Arrested
A man abused his newborn daughter by stomping her. The incident took place in Chiba, a city in Japan.
Police said the man, identified as 22-year-old Daiki Ogata, stomped on his one-month-old daughter as she laid on the floor. He then called his unidentified wife and informed her that the baby wouldn’t stop crying. The woman immediately returned home and rushed the baby to a nearby hospital. Medical tests were conducted on the child following which the hospital notified a child welfare center regarding the case of possible abuse.
The father, a worker at a caregiving facility, was detained for interrogation during which he confessed to the crime. He was taken into custody Friday. Meanwhile, the baby, whose thigh bone was broken in the incident, was being treated at the hospital. Police said the couple has another child who was two years old.
The incident comes less than a month after a woman fatally stabbed her infant daughter before trying to kill herself in the same city. Police arrived at a home after receiving a call from the 37-year-old woman’s mother stating that her daughter was about to kill herself. Upon arrival, the officers saw the grandmother carrying the infant who had several stabs wounds on her body. The infant’s mother was found lying unconscious with self-inflicted stab wounds. The mother and the infant were rushed to a nearby hospital. While the infant was declared dead on arrival, the mother was critical.
