A woman In Mobile, Alabama, was arrested after her infant son was found unresponsive allegedly with rodent bite marks all over body.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to the 5600 block of Andrew Road around 10:40 p.m. on Monday night after receiving a report that a child was found unconscious and unresponsive. The one-year-old boy was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police arrested the infant’s mother, identified as 23-year-old Alexis Ansley, and his grandmother, 43-year-old Donnetta Ansley. Though investigation was ongoing to find out the cause of death, both the women were charged with child endangerment.

Quoting a source, Fox 10 News stated that the infant was found “with what appeared to be rodent bite marks all over his body.” Additional information will be available once the autopsy results are released.

The incident comes days after a Texas woman was charged after her son was found dead at their home. The father of the 4-year-old boy arrived at the home and saw blood everywhere. He then found his wife walking around with injuries and immediately alerted the police. Upon arrival, the officers found the body of the boy in one of the rooms upstairs with his throat slit. Police said the wounds found on 36-year-old Ritika Rohatgi Agrawal’s neck and wrists were self-inflicted. She was charged with murder.
