Man Fatally Shoots Sister For Refusing To Cook Food For Pet Dogs
A man in India allegedly fatally shot his sister after she refused to cook food for his pet dogs.
The incident took place Monday in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. The accused, identified by his first name Ashish, allegedly lost his temper when his sister said she would not cook food for the canines, local reports said. Ashish then pulled out his pistol and shot his sister in a fit of rage.
The woman, who was shot in the chest, was declared dead at the scene.
Family members rushed to the site when they heard gunshots from inside the house, and found the victim, Parul, lying in a pool of blood.
Ashish then informed the police about the incident, and admitted he shot his sister, after which he was taken into custody, the Mid-Day reported. Parul's body was sent for an autopsy.
"A 25-year-old man named Ashish who lives in the Bhawanpur area killed his 23-years-old sister Parul. We have come to know that the accused killed her sister after she refused to look after his 18-20 pet dogs over which they had regular arguments," Dehat Keshav Kumar, a senior police official, told Times Now.
"Every day, the accused would ask his sister to make chappatis for his 20 pet dogs. Today, he shot her dead when she denied," he added.
Local police said even though Ashish admitted to killing his sister, they were also looking at other angles and conducting an investigation.
In a recent incident in Malaysia, a father stabbed his 18-month-old baby in the stomach in a fit of rage. The motive behind the attack was not clear, the police said, and added the accused used a bread knife to attack the child.
"Our personnel at Bukit Puchong police station received a distress call that a man ran amok and stabbed his daughter in the stomach at a flat at Puchong Permai," senior police officer Abd Othman told the Star News at the time.
"The complainant also called for an ambulance from the Serdang Hospital to attend to the toddler's injuries... The one-year-and-six-month-old toddler is in stable condition and receiving treatment at the Serdang Hospital," Othman said.
